Just talked to the IT guy about it and the update is going down today. Probably between 2-4 Pacific Time again. I also asked about the log-in thing to make sure it will be taken care of during the update and he said it would be.
I have to admit...you guys did a great job here for the update !...Only thing i see missing...LMAO is our old ranks...hahha but as long as we all are "new members" we start fresh....!
We tried to import as much of the data as we could but some things just couldn't make the transition from vBulletin to XenForo. It still counts the number of posts you've made I might have to mess around with that a little more to see if I can get the ranks updated.
lol at first when i clicked go to the forums i thought i was at support for a minute. the new structure sort of looks the same for how you navigate through places which i like but the page is now way brighter then before. you should adjust the background color if possible also i think it loked neater when the tabs were smaller and you could see the background more. now it takes up from side to side and everything sort of blends together(basically everything feels more spaced apart and not more together). ill either post or edit this post as i use the forums tonight EDIT: the new edit way is pretty cool feels refreshing seeing a new way of editing. the number of posts isnt displayed on our names, on a thread the peoples posts next to their name the home and forum tab/button at the top of the page are the same
Dan and Cara log in to this? Rather funny if not around anymore on KANO staff. Mitch, can you tone down the colors please when get a chance rather bright. You don't wanna blind people or send them into a seizure (sorry about that in advance)
BTW, image insert not working correctly unless we only have option to use out of XenForo's capabilities.. Unless I'm missing something, just see URL link..
A new theme is definitely high on the priority list, but I wanted to get the software up and running sooner rather than later. Additionally we put in a 301-redirect plugin for links going to the old forum so the should be working properly. I'll have our IT guy double-check the plugin.
Oh, if anyone is wondering how to send a Private Message now, click on a member's name and then click "Start a Conversation".
i like the new look. but i think the top should be more a recognizable kano color. but wither way it looks good and i like the updated layout of the forums real easy to understand and navigate through. i have a spot circled and i am thinking it would look better without that space there because as ir is now sorta looks off EDIT: one more thing are you guys able to get titles back? or does xenforo not allow it just relized when you click go to forums though the game it is giving me an error message since the pages for the games arent there anymore and are now all just on the home page. so the in game link should be updated
I had a developer go through and update all the in-game links to the forum so they should be working correctly now. If there's a specific one that is directing you to the wrong place please let me know and I'll get that fixed up.
ya it is still acting up on kong PC and kanoplay server 2 link. i can go through all the games and check em for you make it easier for you guys. ill put an edit in here letting you know what ones are bad. if there arent any after i go through them all ill put an edit saying none. so ill be back in a couple min EDIT: the rest are working good
Thanks neill we'll get those corrected. And, while I sincerely appreciate the effort to check the links, we have the ability to crawl our games for every link to forum automatically and update them, so in future just let us know which ones aren't working and save yourself a little trouble.
Mitch, quick question why is it that a "new idea" showed up today, but didn't show up on alerts or new posts? Am I missing something?
